Important announcement – Coronavirus

Dear Community Members

As you would have by now heard, President Ramaphosa addressed the nation last night, hours after Cabinet met to discuss South Africa’s COVID-19 plan. A national state of disaster was declared, together with a raft of measures aimed at containing the outbreak. Please familiarise yourself with the measures imposed on all citizens, which has now widely been published by government and other institutions. In light of these measures, the DWCA has made the following decisions:
The AGM on Tuesday (24th March 2020) is postponed until further notice. As a result the current committee will continue in their various roles – we thank them in advance for their commitment.
Our association will liaise and meet with all B&B and accommodation vendors in the village to ensure that each vendor has the correct information at hand and that we as a community offer and assist in any way we can to these and other businesses in our village.
In the meantime, if you have not yet completed the 2020/21 signup form, this is a reminder to do so, we shall extend this deadline to 7 days before the AGM date, when we announce that. The form can be found by clicking the below link. Existing members are kindly asked to use the same form to renew their DWCA membership. Should anyone require help with online memberships, please email Mark on
We shall continue to follow government’s action plan, instructions and recommendations over the next few weeks / months, and accordingly keep our community informed of any further possible changes within the area.
These are trying & testing times for all of us, and we ask for all to respect this decision made, not only by ourselves, but by government. We all have our responsibility and a role to play – no matter how trivial some decisions may seem, let’s all work together for the greater good and for the greater community.
